-Workshops and retreats
I am in my late 40's and have existing medical conditions which is being managed by western medications. However three months ago, due to a gynaecological condition, I became very stressed and anxious. My blood pressure became unstablised. I had heart palpitations, was unable to sleep, felt tired all the time and also suffered stomach acid reflex. I was sliding into depression. I knew I had to take hold of my situation, but I did not want to take anymore western medication, if possible. I then decided to take up yoga which I was told would help relieve my stress level and better manage my health. So I told myself why not give it a try. I started one-to-one yoga therapy with Daphne since July and have done 10 lessons with her. I look foward to my lessons with Daphne because after each lesson, I feel so relaxed and refreshed. She is patient and warm and does not push me too hard, knowing my conditions. Her lessons on breathing techniques has helped me to calm my anxiety which I try to practice whenever there is an opportunity (such as driving in the car, or watching tv). I certainly feel so much relaxed. The stretching exercises are gentle yet give results. I am surprised that just some simple stretches can awaken certain muscles in my body which I never knew were there! My heart palpitations have reduced and my blood pressure is now stablised. My body is more flexible. Best of all, I sleep so much better! Taking yoga lessons from Daphne is one of the wisest decisions I have made in a long time. My health is better managed. I find that I am also able to control my temperament. Before, I dread to wake up every morning, because I did not want to go through a tedious and stressful day. Now I no longer feel that, as I know I can manage by doing simple yoga exercises whenever I feel stress or anxious. My quality of my life has certainly improved since taking yoga lessons with Daphne.
